Markets in everything…

MA has offered to play Warcraft with me, in exchange for me giving up Rugby.  I find this an interesting offer, for several reasons, not the least of which being I’m not sure how I would tell that story later on…

I was such a weenie, I gave up Rugby to play a videogame.

The big kicker of  course, is that it is playing a videogame with MA, which would be highly awesome.

Any thoughts on if I should take up her generous offer, and how I could explain that choice without sounding like (being) a looser?

  1. Matt just my opinion here, but you have always liked playing rugby, is there a possibility that you would not like playing WoW with MA or that you and her playing styles would be different? Similar to my playing style and yours and Terra’s. If so can you go back to playing rugby if you arrangement doesn’t work out?

  2. Food for thought there. In all fairness, I’ve never played WoW, have zero interest in it, and 11 years of Matthew’s company have not tempted me to join him in gaming EVER. Matthew has no evidence that I’ll be a good warcrafting companion, but it had never occurred to me to doubt that I’d make it worth his while. I’m awesome, after all.

I view this as a lifetime offer. By doing something I don’t want to do, I will give Matthew something he has wanted for years in exchange for NOT doing something that I view as risky and dangerous. Y’all seen the numbers on former American Football players with brain damage, losing their minds and memories before they even hit retirement age? Yeah, but in Rugby they don’t even give you a helmet. I’m not impressed by Matthew’s odds, and if I can avoid that outcome by playing warcraft (which Matthew swears I’ll enjoy . . . ) so be it.

  3. i suggest you choose a game that actually ends. warcraft just goes on and on.. always running around killing rabbits for coins until you can buy a magic loin cloth, and then more running around killing rabbits.

  4. Instead of getting beat up by a bunch of hugging men:), your going to get virtually beat up by your wife. I love it! Go MA
