A trifle

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:16 am

Cris’s questions about my views on my own missionary service and the attendant impact thereof reminded me of an amusing memory.  Often a controversial figure, I was sometimes referred to by my friends as Elder Vader (likely called that and worse behind my back by my not-so-friends).  Perhaps because of that, I find this comic particularly amusing.

  1. Did you have low retention? or was it because of your uncanny powers?

  2. That is hilarious! I can definitely see it. I’ve never seen you squish anyone’s throat with your mind, but you do have an oddly hypnotic cadence to your voice. I would say you’re more Obi Wan Mormoni.

  3. @Terra – No, my retention rate was actually a bit higher than other missionaries with similar numbers. I don’t have data on what it has been long term though, so I can’t really say definitively. I thought the comic was funny enough to be worth it, even if it wasn’t completely on point.

@Cris – Ha! I might have to put that on a t-shirt too =) In all reality though, I was rather more forceful back then. I’m pleased you find me less Vader-y.

  4. It is nice for someone to actually compare you or I to one of the good guys rather than the villan of the story :)
